ARA: The advocates of local district bar association decided to resume their legal work from March 3.

The secretary of district bar association Vidya Niwas Singh said that the decision was taken after review of all things held during last four days. Local advocates were not participating in legal work since February 28 to protest the non-arresting of one of the alleged accused who was allegedly involved in killing of advocate Satyendra Kumar.

Advocate was killed on February 22 in presence of his wife at Shital Tola under Ara town police station. Wife of slain advocate had named two for the incident in the FIR lodged by her. Police has arrested one of them on February 23 but one of the alleged accused is still on large.

Secretary told in general meeting of local advocates held on Monday that within last four days, several positive steps were taken by local administration. SP Sushil Kumar provided security to wife of advocate. SP further told to delegation of advocates that police is making raids at several places to arrest the alleged accused who are on large at present. SP also took personal interest on request of advocates to allot a shop of public distribution system to wife of slain advocate for her livelihood. For that SP has assured that he will talk to Bhojpur DM and sadar SDO in this regard. After completing all procedures for it, an attempt will be made to allot a shop of PDS in the name of wife of slain advocate.

Before the general meeting, advocates from Ara civil court took out a silent march from civil court to Bhojpur DM office. As DM was not present in the office at that time, ADM took out memorandum of advocates on behalf of DM.
