PATNA: The term of the committee constituted to restructure the Bihar Police Manual has been extended for six months. The state Home Department has issued a notification in this regard.
The Home Department has stated in its order that a high level committee was constituted on September 16, 2019 under the chairmanship of Additional Director General (ADG) of Police for revision of Bihar Police Manual 1978 and formation of new police manual as per the prevailing law.
The committee was to complete its work within a period of 6 months from the date of formation. But it is likely to take more time to finalize the restructuring of the police manual by making a detailed review of the dedicated report by various sub-committees for preparing chapter-wise Synopsis of the Model Police Manual. Hence the term of the Bihar Police Manual Reorganization Committee is extended for a period of 6 months, the order said.
